Down In The Delta es una película dramática que significa el debut tras las cámaras dirigiendo de la tristemente desaparecida autora afroamericana y musa de la libertad Maya Angelou. El film relata la vida de una mujer al borde de la autodestrucción en un peligroso barrio de Chicago, donde el tráfico de drogas y la violencia son el dia a dia.

Stevie Wonder participa con una canción que compuso junto a Stephanie Andrews en el año 1985 para John Denver y que rescata en este año 1998 para la banda sonora de esta película. Una hermosa canción que lleva por título "If Ever".
